MIT Sloan School of Management

A few years back I was working for Alan Siegel, the man behind the NBA logo and founder of the brand agency Siegel+Gale. I was part of a design team assigned to develop the new branding for MIT Sloan School of Management in Cambridge, Massachusetts. My design was called “Meaningful Invention”, a combination of circular elements combined with color to suggest both open and inventive. Movement and progression show depth and breadth — an open visual continuum. Different, complementary components can work together seamlessly — the whole is made of inventive elements. The logo inspiration was unity, catalytic and a typography that reflects your originality. I got the opportunity to visit the school and present my design to the board members. It was a magnificent experience and opportunity. After many months of back and forth with the client, my logo option was one of the top choices…but as we all designers know things can change in minutes. The school decided to modify another logo in-house.

You be the judge…
